OALP BID ROUND – X
OALP – XI
Exploration and Production (E&P) of Oil & Gas plays a vital role in India’s pursuit towards energy security. India’s primary energy demand is projected to double by 2045, and hence intensive E&P efforts are required to tap both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reserves in 26
Sedimentary Basins. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India launched the new “Hydrocarbon Exploration and Licensing Policy” (HELP) in 2016, which aims to enhance domestic production through
simplified licensing and favorable terms. This includes Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP), Discovered Oil and Gas fields under Discovered Small Field (DSF) policy and Coal Bed Methane (CBM) policy. Domestic and International E&P players are invited to explore the vast potential of India’s hydrocarbon resources through International Competitive bidding. The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, invites bids for conventional and non-conventional hydrocarbon blocks, under the above-mentioned policies. The entire bidding process is managed by a composite, transparent and secure e-Bidding Portal.
